The Royal Dublin Society is the name given in 1820 to an organisation which was commonly known as the 'Dublin Society' and which was founded on 25 June 1731 "to promote and develop agriculture, arts, industry, and science in Ireland".

The RDS continues to further the economic and cultural development of Ireland. Its home is Ireland's largest exhibition and conference centre.
