American Football taking off in Ireland
Last weekend Camden Court Hotel had the pleasure of being the venue for the second IAFCA Annual Coaching Convention.
Over 110 American football coaches attended the weekend with Camden Court Hotel F&B Manager, Darrin O'Toole becoming one of the first IAFCA coaches qualified to deliver the BAFCA Level 1 qualification, marking a huge step forward in the development of Irish American football and demonstrating the committment of Irish American Football to their sport.
At the black-tie dinner on Saturday evening, held at the Iveagh Restaurant, Coach Andrew Dennehy of the Dublin Rebels received the 2009 IAFCA Coach of the Year award. President of BAFCA, Jim Messenger, and Coach Riq Ayub, Head coach of the Great Britain National Team, were both presented with special achievement awards by IAFCA to acknowledge their role in the development of the Irish coaches association.
A big congratulations from the hotel to Andrew, Jim, Darrin and Riq on their achievements and on the role they have played in developing American Football in Ireland
