We have lift off….
The Rugby World Cup has begun….
New Zealand and Tonga have just started to playing and every one is still buzzing from the amazing opening ceremony that took place
New Zealand PM John Key made a speech welcoming the 20 teams and supporters. A whopping 100,000 people will come to New Zealand for the tournament in total.
He finished his speech with, “Have a great night, enjoy the rugby and go the mighty All Blacks!”
Although the first match has just started we are waiting patiently in anticipation for Ireland v USA on Sunday. The Pool C opener kicks off at 7am Irish time. Declan Kidney earlier this morning announced the chosen team to take on USA. The Ireland coach opted to give Munster’s 22-year-old Conor Murray from Limerick, the starting scrum-half berth ahead of Leinster duo Eoin Reddan and Isaac Boss. Tomás O’Leary missed out on a place in the World Cup squad after a lacklustre warm-up series.
