The Easter Sunday State Commemoration Ceremony and Parade takes place on Easter Sunday, March 27th 2016. 

President Michael D. Higgins will attend the State Ceremonial at the GPO in O'Connell Street at 12.00pm.

During the ceremony, the 1916 proclamation will be read aloud and President Higgins will lay a wreath on behalf of the people of Ireland. This will be followed by one minute's silence and the Irish Flag will be raised above the GPO while the National Anthem is played. 

The Easter parade will begin at St. Stephen's Green at 10.00am and representatives from the Defence Forces including An Garda Síochána will be taking part. The parade will pause during the State Ceremonial but will resume afterwards and end at Bolton Street around 3.00pm. These events will be broadcast live across numerous television channels including RTÉ.
