Portobello Adventure
Enjoy an unforgettable couple of hours with Portobello Adventure. Choose from pedal boats or kayaks to take in the picturesque views and meet some river dwellers along the Grand Canal. Don’t worry if you never kayaked before: you’ll be provided with instructions. No previous experience is necessary, and the tour is accessible to all — old and young, sporty and not so sporty.
Little Museum of Dublin
Children will love the Little Museum of Dublin. Discover the story of Dublin in an elegant Georgian townhouse, join one of their famous guided tours. This is a classic and entertaining half hour that should not be missed. Music fans will particularly enjoy the second-floor exhibition – U2 Made in Dublin, which starts the story of the city’s most famous rock band from 1976 to the present day. Afterwards, head downstairs to the basement kitchen of Hatch & Sons for a hearty lunch. The museum is open seven days a week from 11am until 5pm. A family ticket – for two adults and two children – is just €20.
Imaginosity
Imaginosity in nearby Sandyford, is the only dedicated children's museum in the south of Ireland. Based on the philosophy that children learn best through play, Imaginosity provides a creative, educational, interactive space for children up to the age of 8 years and their families. The museum's exhibits focus on science, maths, engineering, environmental awareness, arts and culture. The museum presents a diverse, ever-changing, educational programme of events and activities that spark children's imaginations and encourage and enable them to be whomever and whatever they want to be. Families can book tickets in advance online or over the phone at 353 (1) 2176130. Parking is available in the Beacon Complex in Sandyford where the museum is situated.
Airfield Estate
Airfield Estate and Urban Farm in Dundrum is a fantastic 38 acre working farm situated just a 15 minute from our Camden Court Hotel. All the family will love being able to get up close with all the farm animals whilst also enjoying the beautiful woodlands, gardens and children’s playground. To visit you will need to pre-book a day ticket before you arrive. Adult day entry is €12, children (4 - 17yrs) €6.50, under 3's are free and family tickets are also available. Arfield Estate is open Wednesday – Sunday from 10 am – 4 pm with last admission at 3.30 pm. With acres of green space, farm animals, beautiful plants and woodlands, Airfield offers you the perfect opportunity to explore and enjoy the great outdoors.
