Visit St. Valentine's Shrine

The Shrine of St Valentine is in the Whitefriar Street Church, on Whitefriar Street, only a stones throw away from Camden Court Hotel.

When you enter the church, the remains are on the right, in a casket beneath a marble altar. Above, you’ll see a life-sized statue of Saint Valentine. On the casket, you’ll find the following inscription…

“This shrine contains the sacred body of Saint Valentinus the Martyr, together with a small vessel tinged with his blood.”

Each year on Valentine’s Day, the remains are moved to the main altar for a special Mass. Though it’s one of the busiest days to visit the church, it’s also one of the most poignant, and a fitting way to celebrate the day.

Lonely Paws at Dundrum Town Centre

Find "the one" this Valentine's Day.

Dundrum Town Centre and the DSPCA are teaming up to host the DSPCA ‘Lonely Paws’ event taking place in the centre from 8th to 16th of February.

There are hundreds of animals looking for homes across Ireland, and hundreds of willing owners looking to bring a pet into their lives. Instead of a human valentine, guests can come along and find their pet palentine, and change their lives for the better in the process.

The DSPCA will be making the initial matches either via the profiles displayed on Level 1 in the centre, or at the adoption parades on Saturday 8th, Saturday 15th and Sunday 16th February between 12-4pm outside in Town Square.

Once you have set eyes on your perfect match, the DSPCA will take you through the next steps to get the adoption process started.

It’s a perfect opportunity for people who can offer animals a good home to come along, find the right pet for them and pupgrade both their happiness permanently!

Dates: 8th - 16th February

Time: 12 - 4pm

Address: Dundrum Town Centre, Dublin 16
